Day 5
Coming home tomorrow!! We had a great day today! We cooked a spaghetti lunch for about 75 homeless people and hosted it in the YWAM base. It was a great experience for the kids to wait on people who are not often treated with such respect. We had great conversations and were happy to join with the YWAM staff to pull the event off! We’re leaving early in the am from S.F. See you all so...

Day Four
Hi friends! I don’t have a lot of time to update because it is so late right now. But we are doing great. The big news today was being able to bring sack lunches that we prepared to separate groups of homeless people in different parts of the city. It was a great experience and I am sure your student will have some great stories to tell you when they return home! Tomorrow we will be...

Loved it
This was one if my favorite trips of all time. I had an amazing time with my junior high group, parents and leaders. Sad I have to take a red eye back to Dallas tonight but I have an ordination meeting with our Presbytery at 10am Thursday morning. I’ll be a bit tired but being with the students just a bit longer on Wednesday night was totally worth it. Parents I can’t wait till you...

Day Three
Hi friends! We are having a great time in San Francisco! Today one of our teams served meals at St. Anthony’s (a place for homeless and poverty stricken people to get a free meal). The other team spent most of the afternoon at the San Francisco food bank sorting through cereal that will be distributed. Both experiences served as reminders that missions work does not only occur in the...

So much joy
I can’t remember the last time I laughed more than I did today. I’ve been helping lead a team of all junior high girls and mons with Amanda. Today was probably one of my top 10 youth ministry days. Our goal today was to find a bunch of churches in the Mission area of San Francisco. We had a great time finding them and praying for them. Through out it all the day involved so much fun...

Day Two
Hi friends. Today was a solid (and exhausting) day of service ministry in San Francisco. One of our teams woke up at 6am (before everyone else) and served breakfast at Glide Memorial. It was a great experience and students either served the food to people in line or served in the prep room. The most emotional time of the trip thus far has been watching 8 students in tears whilst cutting hundreds...

Anders talking about something our group stumbled upon while we were out praying for the local churches in San Francisco today. We walked in to the church to pray for it and found people stuffing bags to distribute to the homeless. It was a pretty rad thing to stumble upon. -j

Love being in San Francisco
I was thinking today about how many students I’ve brought to YWAM SanFrancisco the last 10 Years. Amazing students for whom this trip did a lot to grow their faith. I’m praying that for this team from HPPC. God please do something huge in the lives of these students. -Lars

Day One Recap
Hi friends. We had a full day of travel, orientation, and ministry today in San Fran. The students did an incredible job of not losing boarding passes, not screaming on the plane, getting on the right train and generally being overall pretty outstanding examples of humanity. We arrived in SF around noon and were able to take a couple hours and walk around the city and get some food before the...
